CHAPTER 1

The alarm went off at 4:00am! God, another workday! I slowly rose from my bed and placed my feed on the floor, I hated working the day shift. I have to get up so early just to get to work on time; the traffic would be killer if I slept in. I stumbled to the bathroom and crawled into the shower, the water flowing over me felt so good. I slowly woke as I washed and was fully awake by the end of my shower. 45 minutes had passed and I needed to hurry if I was to get a coffee in and make my lunch before I had to leave to beat the traffic. The weather report said that it would be another snowy and cold day so I knew the roads would be terrible to drive on. I silently prayed that my old car would survive the winter and that I could save enough money to buy a new used car in the spring. I packed my lunch and prepared my clothes for work.
