More Zapped?

I think I started something when I mentioned over on BC TopShelf that I was thinking about the possibility of one more chapter of Zapped! to try to tie up loose ends a bit more. Rather than take up bandwidth over on BCTS about it I've started this thread here on Stardust.

I'm torn between leaving things as they are in Chapter 22 or doing one more chapter to bring things to a close. Also, writing lately has become much more difficult. The muse simply hasn't been with me. I've tried a dozen times or more to write again and have the shards of a dozen or more broken stories to show for my feeble efforts.

I think many of us understand how sometimes things just don't flow. But please, don't dismiss the idea of a wrap-up chapter for good. You may sit down some day with it all pouring out of you, and that episode will come with little or no effort. Just say "maybe". At least then we have some hope.

I won't bother to enumerate the loose ends left in 22, I'm sure you know them all too well. But you created a person we all like, and we do care about what happens to her, so we want to know what happened.

And a little of my own ...

We all deal with writer's block differently. For me I usually force myself to write even if I don't feel inspired. The 3 most recent stories I have posted were all a product of this, I couldn't push through with what I was 'supposed' to be working on so I pushed through with something else. Along the way there were about a dozen other starts and outlines that never came to fruition.

I would love to read more of Jenn, both in her crossover to the Julieverse and in your own unique and wonderful work. As Karen said, you have created a character that many love and care about. If you write more of Jenn, as I sincerely hope you do, we'll celebrate. But even if you don't, we will know, because you created her so vividly, that whatever happens Jennifer Stevens will be just fine.

I should have such writers block

if Female of the Species was the product of your writers block, I hope it's highly contageous. Feel free to come cough and sneeze all over me.

As to my thoughts -- you may all snore now -- writer's block comes and goes. I hardly wrote for years and now I'm writing more than I ever have. If all we ever see of Jennifer is her interacting with Jirra and co, I'll be happy. A chapter or two of Zapped to tie up loose ends would be great but if it doesn't happen, so be it. Our own lives have lots of loose ends we never tie up.

I'd enjoy more of Zapped but then I like the characters. I suspect Born to Race has some of that potental for interesting sequals but it ended at a point that was logical so it feels better from my standpoint as a reader. Not that I would say no to more of it.

I'll take what I can get and say thanks for what we have.

Zapped having one of the story lines I always looked forward to, I was greatly disappointed when you said, “this was the final chapter.” There are several serials that keep going and I believe that Zapped should have a long life. You had said that the readers would get tired of Jenn adventures but I believe that people are waiting for more, not just a chapter to tie things up. I hope your writer’s block clears soon and you put forth more than just a last chapter.

I know how hard writer's block can be but I think you have more of Jen's adventures to tell and we'll certainly be happy to read them. :)

I hope that you will keep writing something. I would like to see more "Zapped!" but any stories would be ok also.

I hope you do anther chapter of zapped, and put all them on yours or Erin's site. i loved zapped and i also love how you and other writers let each other characters in each others stories. i love your zapped series and JulieO's protector series and her scholarship series, as well as Iona, these characters can keep going on, I wish someone would make a movie of them, they are great. I think julieO should have IONA fix ALLY'S RIGHT SHOULDER AND GIVE HER A PROTECTION SPELL. It is just an idea, but i really would like to see another chapter of ZAPPED.
