The Wild, Wild Heart

I make no bones about it, I loved the name. I had been Westbound on the Trans-Canada- Highway, Route 1 with a special load to deliver, a concrete toboggan, from Carleton University in Ottawa, for The Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race.  I needed to drop this container by the 26th yet on Monday morning at 5am I knew I needed to pull over, the weather was not cooperating. It was -9.0 °C, with visibility at 0.6 kilometers with a light freezing fog. Letting caution take the upper hand, I pulled right onto Prince Of Wales Dr and again on Eastgate Drive and lastly into the Husky Travel Center. As I sat with my head on the wheel, I had been on the road for two days already. Yes it is only 2619 Km or about thirty one hours straight driving but by the new hours of service law I could only drive for eleven out of each twenty four hours, I had pushed that out some but I would have to park my rig here for the better part of the day. I had about eight more hours to go, more than enough time if conditions improved. As I made ready to head for the showers, 620 CKRM played Bill Staines’ The Wild Wild Heart. I knew than that this was the right name for my rig, I had been looking for one since I bought her used from the leasing company. I opened my laptop, did a quick search at dogpile.com and found a link http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ano8Ib2j6O8 and saved it.
