This document is a journal of Investigation. The planet in question is a small class forty-two planet, forth planet from local star in the system.
This is the second scouting mission to this planet. The first scouting team reported several anomalies in this system. The initial survey revealed six intelligent species inhabiting the planet. This on a planet were the most advanced civilization was pre-industrial. Some strange energy readings were reported by the initial survey but they failed to find the source. Artifacts from five different species dating back over twenty million temporal units (almost 3000 years) ago were found on the planet. Two of the intelligent species were found nowhere else in the galaxy. Two of the remaining intelligent species had FTL capability for less than eight million temporal units.
The system in question has a large resource potential and caused something of a political problem for the Galactic Confederation. Though no know probes were made in this area till recently three of the four species that have been found on the planet have attempted to claim it. . The Terran, the Gewaagd, and the Leute are all trying to lay claim to the system based on settlements on the planet, this despite the fact that one or, both of the two other species may be indigenous.
Personal Notes:
As a member of the Alven species (The only species one of the four Confederation species not making a claim) I have been assigned the task of determining the validity of all claims and discovering the mysterious origin that has resulted in the presence of six intelligent species on this planet. For my own edification, I am recording my own distaste for politics.

Have released nine hundred thousand two hundred fifty micro spy droids modeled after some small local (to preliminary to call any creature on this world indigenous) insectoid life forms. Droids targeted at various areas of interest as defined in section ten in the initial survey report. The droids were released from orbit in standard atmospheric penetrators. Awaiting drones to reach targets and start sending data.

Spy droids deployed swarm is operating at ninety-eight percent effectiveness. Note some of the droid shapes seem to resemble fairly tasty pray species to local predators.
The planet completes its rotation in eighteen point seven five standard units. It will be two such days before there will be enough useful data to begin analysis.

Biology: The hodgepodge of organisms found on the planet resembles a galactic zoo and botanical garden. With some difficulty a picture is forming. Roughly twenty million temporal units ago multiple species were introduced into the system from some extra stellar source. Periodic new introductions were made every one hundred thirty-one thousand five hundred temporal units. This has, lead to ecology in a constant state of flux. Oddly enough the new species introductions all seem to radiate from a single source. There is one continent (hence forth referred to as Emen) on the opposite side of the planet from the source that seems to be free of non-indigenous life forms.
Paleontology: Fossil records confirm many of the species found on Emen prior Galactic Standard time 18778800.00 (hence forth referred to as First Event) genetic material in those species is unique to system. There are some seemly introduced species that have other unique genetics but are not found in Fossil records prior to First Event.
Archaeology: Only one intelligent species was found in fossil records (hence forth referred to as the Misaumoment). This species had left artifacts indicative of a Neolithic culture in various locations on the planet prior to the First Event. Other artifacts and fossils indicate that the Misaumoment had a normal cultural evolution until the First Event.
The Misaumoment: The Misaumoment are a six limed humanoid with a spinal cord and a scaled epidermis.
The Drake: The Drake sixth intelligent species on the planet is a real enigma. They are a large reptilian species capable of flight. Their aerodynamics and metabolism make no sense at all.
Leute: Short lived mammalian humanoid specialized for strength and disease resistance. Size range varies from four to ten standard units
Gewaagd: intermediate to long life span, mammalian humanoid specialized for strength and resistance to heavy metal poisoning adapted to higher gravity worlds. Size range varies from four to six standard units.
Alven: Long life span, mammalian humanoid specialized for stealth in highly diverse predator rich environment. Size range varies from five to eight standard units
Terran: intermediate life span, mammalian humanoid lacking specialization. Size range varies from five to nine standard units
Cultures
The Cultures on the planet like everything out here are a mixed bag. The Leute are uncharacteristically hygienic but traditionally aggressive. The Gewaagd are uncharacteristically paranoid and strive for a high rate of alcoholism. The Alven are uncharacteristically aggressive. The Terran are both opportunistic and aggressive. The Misaumoment and the Drakes tend toward seclusion.
The basic political units are small feudal fiefdoms at constant war with one another. This may well account for the lack of technical progress as no group has been able to maintain a stable base with the possible exception of the Gewaagd who are nearing an industrial technology in a few deep subterranean city-states.
Linguistics: There is a trade tongue that seems to be based on an old Terran language most of the other languages seem to be derived from pre-space flight root languages of their respective species contaminated with words from other languages.
Etymological Notes: Oddly enough the local races label themselves with Terran derived terms, The Leute call themselves Orks, Gewaagd call themselves Dwarves, the Alven call themselves elves, the Terrans call themselves humans, The Other races call the Drakes, Dragons. The race I call the Misaumoment call themselves the Shanista (a word in their own language for “the people”).

Predation continues to degrade the droid effectiveness swarm now operating at sixty-eight percent. Have found a small locus on the planets surface were new species introductions seem to radiate from. Near the center of this locus there is a high level of electrical activity.
Personal Notes:
The dam dragons seem to know when my droids are watching them and spend their waking hours debugging their lairs. Most of my observations are of sleeping Dragons which makes cultural observation fracking difficult. I have learned what I can from my fly on the wall view of this world and I still have a lot of questions. I am going down to the planet tomorrow and ask them.

Landed discretely away from an Alven settlement not to far from the locus travel will be made on foot in an attempt to make contact.
Personal Notes:
Good time to stretch my legs have modeled clothing to pass for local dress keeping all inappropriate technical devises concealed. I had to avoid small parties of Leutes in route to my objective. I joined a group Alven pilgrims about halfway to my objective. It seems there is a celebration every twenty planetary revolutions. This group is an advanced party that I have linked up with the festivities are still three quarters of a year away.
The pilgrimage and festivals are synchronous with locus activity and may well be an actual celebration of the event.

This village has proven to be the gathering point for a multi species gathering. From interviews with the locals the follow conclusions can be drawn:
· The locals are here to witness the opening of a portal of some sort.
· Though it opens every twenty years it is an important trade event.
· There is some immigration and emigration associated with the event.
It also appears that the number of intelligent species was underestimated there are twenty intelligent species currently in this village though their populations on the planet are quite low (less then needed for a stable colony).
Personal Notes:
From what I have been told there is one really unusual thing about this gathering this year there has been unusually fruitful in this area animals and plants have produced a bonanza this has been a little disappointing to some of the more mercantile pilgrims. Normally this village is taxed to provide enough food to maintain the gathering. Merchants haul food from great distances to sell expecting high prices. This year's local bounty has, let to some measure of disappointment among the food haulers. The food species are not the only thing that has been fruitful. We are on the verge of a local population. I have never seen so many pregnant Alven outside a maternity ward. It is not just the Alven but almost every sexually active adult in the village. Many consider it a great blessing (A few do not, especially the more fertile and shorter lived species that have found their various methods of contraception ineffective). The Dragons have a theory “they say I am a source of fertility magic.” The good part of this is I have been given what I am told is a rare opportunity to learn about their culture. The down side of this is I keep getting invited by young newlywed dragon couples to be present when they consummate their relationships. It is considered impolite and imprudent to turn down such invitations. The bad part of these dragon honeymoons is I find myself saddled on and strapped to the maid of honor or best man for the duration for a long series of aerobatic maneuvers. There is little difference between dragon mating and atmospheric dogfights except dogfights are over more quickly. Believe me I have become an expert (I am glad I had the opportunity to sneak back to my craft for a G suit.)

A conference of Dragons
“I have called this gathering to deal with the important issues related to the Elf know as Tay Kopz,” said the Dragon known as The Great Elder.
The nine other Dragons that made up the Counsel of Elders singled their assent.
The Great Elder continued; “We have made excellent use of Tay Kopz. Come spring after next we will have more fertile eggs then any time since we first came to this world. Unfortunately he will be of no use to us for another twenty years. I yield the floor for comments.”
“I have been studying this Elf since his craft arrived in orbit around this planet. His people have found the means to cross the great voids of space. He is a true native of this universe. As you know the great dream contains that which is and will be. This dimension allows the creation of many life forms even though it lacks the energy for magic. It is only because of forces leaking from the gate to Airousse Moor that we can exist here at all. The elves of this universe came into being without magic. This Tay Kopz is a product of a mostly material world, but still the template for elves holds true. His capacity for magical energies is very great his race takes what little energy it receives into reproduction and survival. This is the only way, they could exist at all in this universe. It is very similar to the reason why we cannot venture far from this one world in this universe. Tay Kopz is blissfully unaware of this or the fact that he has the capacity to be a rather powerful mage. The most humorous part of this is that Tay Kopz does not believe in magic and even when he sees it with his own eyes still looks for a physical explanation,” said the most scholarly of the older dragons.
“Yes his infernal machines are constantly looking for 'power sources' anytime a spell is used. The question remains what we do with him. We cannot have him hanging around the local humanoids making their populations grow even faster,” said the youngest of elders.
“He has done us great service. We cannot repay this with his death,” said one of the elders.
“It is true we owe him a boon. The elf seeks knowledge. I say send him to Airousse Moor for an education,” said another elder.
“There is wisdom and honor in that,” said The Great Elder.
“I have a granddaughter that is going to school their,” said a matronly elder.
Soon the other dragons agreed to the idea and planning began in earnest.

There is in fact an active portal to somewhere else. The natives have been coming and going from it for fifteen days. No mechanism seems apparent from this side.
Personal Notes:
I am going through to check it out a rather charming Elf maiden has volunteered to be my guide.

Charles Krumdey was an officer of CSC Communicable Spell Center of Airousse Moor. The agency dealt with spells curses and diseases of a contagious nature. The agency was one of the few governmental functions that were actually started by the Wizards Counsel. The normal run of cases that the agency dealt with included; plagues, lycanthropy, and toxic curses. Charles Krumdey had spent the better part of his career chasing wererats through the sewers of Airousse Moor.
Lately there had been a prophecy regarding exotic spells two evolved an outbreak of extreme fertility and a new variation of a lycanthropy. The new lycanthropy variant was prophesied to have the appearance of a sexually transmitted disease so Officer Krumdey had been spending more time then he was accustom to, in the cities red light district. Thus far the prophesied public health hazards had failed to materialize.
After another fruitless day of searching Charles Krumdey returned home. Charles Krumdey had a rather pleasant home life. Anna his lovely wife of five years was the light of his life. Some women would be far less supportive of a husband with such a demanding and dangerous job. Anna often worried for him, but was accepting and always loving. Lately Anna began to want one thing more, for the couple was childless. Now in Airousse Moor there was enough high magic to handle such problems. Unfortunately high magic was not in the price range of a civil servant. So the Krumdeys tried to make do with what lesser mages and apothecaries could provide. They had proven less then effective. Still the Krumdeys did there best to enjoy the effort.
One other little problem Anna's brother was out of work again it was the third apprenticeship, he had lost. He had written his sister telling her he would be in town next month. Charles Krumdey was not looking forward to the arrival of his brother-in-law Floyd.
It took almost a month for any sign of the prophecy regarding exotic fertility spell to surface. It started with a minor plague of flies. The area affected included one of the schools of magic, an adjacent area of student housing, a residential area, and the north quarter of the Street of Inns, Bakers Row, and part of the red light district.
“It always includes the red light district,” said Krumdey to his supervisor as he received his assignment. He had been tasked with investigating the affected section of the red light district and the area of student housing. He was glad he did not have to deal with the bakers (he was already having nightmares of what was passing for raisin breads of late). The angry innkeepers would not have been a better prospect to face as their customers literally headed south. Instead Krumdey had to deal with a groups of members of the oldest profession who had a concern other then an over abundance of flies. There were spells and potions for killing flies and the houses could afford them. In those same houses that had so easily dealt with the flies they had a far greater disruption of business. In this section of the street of lanterns no menstrual blood had flown in a month at least not from active purveyors of the trade.
Two hours latter Krumdey returned to the houses in question with a medical seer. The news was very much as he suspected. The ladies were not all that pleased.
The area of effect was carefully plotted on map as Officer Krumdey and the medical seer continued to interview women in the effected area. Their data was incorporated into a map that revealed a simple circular pattern. It seemed that only females that were sexually active with a member of the opposite sex were affected. (With the possible exceptions of three Benikeans who require three sexes none of which they call female and a plant person who self fertilized [who says nobodies perfect].) Those members of the CSC that dealt with standard vermin found that the mice and roaches were already preparing a population explosion of their own.

Ventured through the portal to see where it led.
Personal Notes:
I have gone through the portal it resembled a square lake, we walked on a hard flat surface that gave the visual impression of water. As we walked to the center of the pseudo-lake visibility dropped to near zero instruments went into EMR overload protect mode. It was like walking through a thick fog. When the fog cleared we found ourselves entering a bridge over a great chasm, a rather theatrical customs agent questioned us and treated to a pyrotechnics display. After customs we went though a tunnel and emerged on a city street. My guide was freshman student heading for one of what I was told was one of the cities oldest universities. She had been given specific detailed instructions on were to go and who to see but beyond that was as familiar with the city as I was (not at all). In its own way the city is quite impressive. I have seen many cities on many worlds. I have seen floating cities before, as well. I have not however seen a floating city of this size and nature before. What I found most interesting was how well the technology and infrastructure of the city was hidden. Every aspect of the city was built in what appeared to be a medieval theme. I am told that I have fourteen days before the portal closes to explore the city. I have brought some gold and standard trade goods with me and have found a local money changer that Delinda's (my guide) parents recommended. [I have not met Delinda's parents but they provided her very detailed letters of introduction, maps, and guide books]

Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred forty ninth cycle day ten
I am most exited my testing is done now I await the decisions of the elders we have only been allocated three positions at the university this cycle. My mentors say we are one of the longest lived of species and I should learn patients. I am still young and I guess I will develop patients over time, but for now I hate waiting.
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred forty ninth cycle day twenty five
This is a day of great joy, I have been selected, I will be attending the Inter-World University of Philosophies and Magick in Airousse Moor at the start of next cycle I have triumphed over three hundred other applicants from world. I have been flying in loops since I received the news.
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred forty ninth cycle day twenty nine
The Elders have tasked me with a great responsibility. I am to assume another form and escort the Elf know as Tay Kopz to Airousse Moor and their gently by stealth or magic trap him on the other side for the duration of the next cycle. Well the other form was needed anyway the school was originally set up by human wizards. Classrooms will be a bit of a tight fit for me in my normal form and then there is the issue of affordable housing in the city.
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred forty ninth cycle day thirty
I have begun studying the Elf know as Tay Kopz I am spending my time reading the notes submitted to the council there are numerous notes and observations some are conflicting and contradictory. He seems almost blind to magic and yet pulls in magical energies like a mage. He has been observed using devices that seem magical yet take in no magical energy. He seems to turn all the magic energy near him into this fertility field he has around him. He also has a slight glamour. I wonder what will happen when we enter Airousse Moor were the available magical energies are so much greater.
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred forty ninth cycle day thirty five.
Met the subject today seem nice for a humanoid. I used a false name today. Next time I meet him I will be in the form I will be using in Airousse Moor
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred fiftieth open gate day three.
I have been Elf form for long enough to get used to it. I am still not completely comfortable I feel so small. I have told Tay Kopz that I will take him with me to see the University. The Elders have been acting behind the seen to make sure mine is the only offer. (I do not know what threats or bribes they used)
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred fiftieth open gate day five.
I think that with the gate open that glamour about him is stronger. Others have noticed it as well, but I think I am more sensitive to it in elf form. It makes for a pleasant but uncomfortable felling.
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred fiftieth open gate day sixteen.
This is so exciting stayed at an inn for the first night in the city. This city is huge I have never seen so many beings in on place before. It almost reminds me of a termite mound only bigger, busier and more colorful. 'This is also a place of great power were even an elder drake must use discretion,” mom wrote that in my guidebook. Tay Kopz has a room at the inn even here he is still trying to come to grip with magic. He says that; “Their appears to be some nth dimensional force in the city is not consistent with the universe on the other side of the gate and calls Airousse Moor a Pocket Universe.” I guess in his own way he gets it. Well tomorrow I get to see the house that the Elders have lined up for me.
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred fiftieth open gate day seventeen.
Much to my horror I have found I will need to share my lair with eight other beings. At least I get a room to myself. The landlord that manages this property seems more intent on decimating by sex then species. All the other denizens of this nest are female and are like me near the end of adolescence. We have three humans, a dark elf, a high elf, a gnome, an elf human half-breed, and a Farmunzy (the Farmunzy has like me taken a humanoid form). A wagon from home is bringing furnishing this afternoon I have asked Tay Kopz to help me move in.
Excerpts from the diary of Delinda Lung 9th month of the one hundred fiftieth open gate day eighteen.
Tay Kopz glamour is growing more powerful my housemates are all in lust with him. He spent most of yesterday morning in the history section of the schools library but they were exposed to him all afternoon while he helped me move in. He is very much an excellent physical specimen of an elf male. I now have eight coconspirators in trying to keep him here. I have found that dark elves excellent conspirators (I am not sure if it is natural or cultural but she is refreshingly free of convention or scruples in her thinking).

Officer Krumdey began his next day early at the building that was dead center in the middle of the CSC's map of the effected area. He brought the medical seer with him. The area was primarily owned by small associations formed by alumni of the nearby Inter-World University of Philosophies and Magick. The buildings were used as off campus housing.
The house in question was a fair sized free standing three story stone structure. Krumdey knocked on the door. It was fairly early and it took awhile for anyone to respond. After a few minutes a hastily dressed female gnome opened the door.
“Sorry to disturb you miss, I am Officer Charles Krumdey of the CSC and this is my partner Deidre Simms. We need a few moments of your time to ask some questions,” stated Krumdey.
The young gnome maiden yawned and asked; “what's the CSC?”
“CSC stands for Communicable Spell Center; we are an agency formed by the Wizards Counsel to deal with spells curses and diseases of a contagious nature. We are here on Counsel Business”, said the Officer showing his badge of office.
“We are only beginning students, classes have only started a week ago,” blurted the now wide awake gnome.
“I am sorry we only need to ask a few questions Miss, Miss, what is your name,” asked Simms?
Crystal, Crystal Pyrite, stated the gnome.
“Miss Pyrite I am afraid I have to ask you some rather personal questions please excuse me, I will be as non judgmental as possible and hold all your answers in the strictest confidence,” explained Krumdey.
The young gnome steadied herself and summoned up her courage and invited the two CSC officers into the common room. The room was furnished with a mix of couches chairs and tea tables that had seen perhaps one semester too many. After the three of them were comfortably seated Officer Krumdey continued his questions.
“Miss Pyrite how many beings live here,” asked Krumdey?
“Nine total,” answered Crystal.
“How long have you been in town,” asked Krumdey?
“Five weeks, we all arrived here early for freshman orientation,”
Krumdey paused a moment before asking his next question; “Have you or any of your housemates been sexually active in the pasted five weeks?”
Crystal Pyrite seemed distracted for a moment before shyly admitting, “Yes.”
By this time another freshman girl joined them in parlor, the young brunette human was soon part of the questioning.
Deidre Simms soon administered her exam and informed the shocked young ladies that they were with child. This was especially shocking as, both were using some of the most powerful and effective anti-conception spells available. One by one the two CSC officers put the girls other house mates through the same emotional rollercoaster. Krumdey and Simms soon found themselves trying to maintain order as the girls began to quarrel among themselves
“I can't be pregnant my species lays eggs,” protested Delinda Lung.
“It is called fertility induced polymorphic form lock but is rare and requires near god like fertility magic,” complained Helen Noid the very annoyed Farmunzy.
“You are saying we are stuck in these forms till we, we,” the stuttering dragon in elf maiden form was intruded.
“Give birth,” the Farmunzy in human form completed her sentence.
“You knew didn't you dragon bitch,” accused the dark elf Elugafein'olg Arkenett.
“Is he some sort of god,” asked Tina Blanco the young brunette who was second to receive the news.
“Who is this, he you are talking about,” interjected Krumdey.
The nine females starred at him at once. It took them a little while for the girls to let the cat out of the bag. It took longer to let the naked drugged and exhausted elf that was tied to a bed in the attic out. It took even longer to get the rest of the story. Elugafein'olg Arkenett had fallen in lust with Tay Kopz on his first day there she had proposed seducing him and keeping in the attic. The other girls their judgment effected by Kopz's powerful glamour all wanted to share in the plan.
“I too was affected by the glamour,” complained Arkenett.
“If I was in my right mind I would have kept him for myself,” explained the dark elf.
Delinda Lung explained what she and the other dragons knew about Tay Kopz.
They gathered Tay Kopz his clothing and his equipment.
“Just take me someplace were I can get some rest,” said the semi conscious elf.
Krumdey and Simms loaded the elf into the back of their carriage were he quickly fell asleep.
“For an elf to require this much rest they must have kept him very busy,” commented Krumdey.
“Very, I was wondering what I know we have to turn him in but before we do, my husband and I have been trying to,” started Simms.
“My wife and I too, How far do you live from my house,” asked Krumdey.
They made their plans.
-_-_-
Charles Krumdey returned from work early he greeted his wife enthusiastically and gave her flowers.
“Hi honey we have a very temporary house guest,” said Krumdey.
“Yes about Floyd,” she said.
“I am not talking about Floyd,” he said.
He quickly went out and quickly returned with a sleeping male elf which he deposited on the living room sofa. “He will only be here for a few hours,” explained Charles.
“Ok, but about Floyd,” she said.
“We don't have time for that now,” he said silencing her with a kiss. Soon the two lovers adjourned to the master bedroom.
-_-_-
Mrs. Charles Krumdey was in for a bit of a shock when she returned from shopping. There was a strange elf sleeping on the couch. She reasoned it was probably her brother Floyd. Floyd had arrived earlier that day he told her that he had been afflicted with a strange and unpredictable form of lycanthropy. By midday she found out how strange a form it was when he morphed into her twin. She left Floyd in the house to do some shopping after she helped him change into some close that fit.
She let the elf sleep and put away he groceries she bought at the market and began to prepare dinner. Not long after she began to prepare the cabbage she heard voices from upstairs. She went her bedroom in time to see her husband in bed with her twin.
“FLOYD!” She screamed.

CSC After action support Deidre Simms
We have successfully closed two of the forecasted cases today we found the cause of the enhanced fertility curse and found the carrier of the new form of lycanthropy. Unfortunately Officer Krumdey my partner in these investigations has become infected with the form of lycanthropy. From the carrier one Floyd Obenhymer told me the disease has a very unpredictable atypical timing. Both the new form of lycanthropy and Tay Kopz's involuntary fertility field and seem resistant to normal forms of treatment. I have placed Floyd Obenhymer, Officer Charles Krumdey, and Tay Kopz in isolation. Counseled Helen Noid, Delinda Lung, and Floyd Obenhymer on fertility induced polymorphic form lock syndrome and mammalian pregnancy. The city is providing additional prenatal care and midwife services to the effective areas and pest control is stepping up its activities. I am also putting in an advanced request for maternity leave.

Tales of Airousse Moor One
The Wizards Son
Yocar was the son of one of Airousse Moor most powerful wizards. Yocar's father was also quite mad. Not that destructive foaming at the mouth type of madness that really plays hell with one's social life, but the kind of insane brilliance that produces wealth, power, great art, and invention.
OK, so Yocar's father Gerald rendered Doctor Frankenstein a bit mundane by contrast we all have are own little problems. For his first thirteen years Yocar was raised by his mother who was a powerful sorceress in her own right. She also had a certain sense of self preservation and so she left her gentile loving husband that had a bad habit of taking major demons as pets and found a relatively safer neighborhood several dimensions away.
She was an attentive and loving mother and young grew into his teens in a loving and protective home. Despite her prudence however they did not live happily ever after. In Yocar's thirteenth year, she found a lover. Her ex-husband was not the jealous type and he never really found out were she left for. That, and he had not really cared as he was too busy with his current research to be distracted by his wife and son fleeing for their lives.
The problem was the new lover. What can I say? Let me put it this way; affairs of the heart between barbarian warriors and sorceresses never turn out well. One of her new lover's enemies assassinated her. Yocar's new step father avenged her of course after almost single handedly (just him, a thirteen year old boy, and a nanny) defeating the combined armies of three kingdoms.
After the war Yocar's step father found the young man's talent for both mischief and magic were more then he could handle. (What can I say; the kid took after his father.) Initially the Barbarian Warrior King tried fostering his charge. This had mixed results with two kingdoms and three powerful wizards paying his treasury substantial tribute to keep the young prodigy out of their courts. It was at this point that the Young King found out who the boys birth father was. When his almost fifteen year old son showed up on his doorstep, Gerald who knew himself to be a lousy teacher, decided to give his son a formal education.
Over the next two years Yocar proved to be a most remarkable student reading entire libraries in days. He was able to learn the most complex tasks with only casual observation. He also demonstrated a certain lack of respect for authority and impatience with those that he found slow on the uptake. He quickly matriculated though several school testing out early. Most of the schools involved tended to not favor his preference for test out and early matriculation. Yocar was an excellent student until he got bored, but when he did get bored he liked to play practical jokes. Gerald did what he could to pacify the schools after these incidents. Gerald was very rich and powerful and the boards of trusties of schools tend to be amenable to the proper donation. Several schools added new wings and one school of wizardry received eight new buildings (as replacement for the six that were destroyed). In the end the schools resorted to a test out as the most prudent course for survival. At least with Yocar's talent, he could test out without compromising their academic integrity.
After two tears of formal education Gerald decided to take his son as an apprentice. It was while teaching his son the seventy two earthly methods of transformations that the accident occurred. Gerald neglected to show the protective centering ritual to his son. The spell still worked. The problem was in direction and duration. Normally such spells are anchored in time or to some object. Most common lycanthropy cures are anchored to the moon and an animal sprit. Short duration spells are anchored to some cycle in the caster's or target's metabolism. An unanchored spell tends to find its anchors at random. In the case of Yocar's powerful transformation spell that anchor was a star in a distant galaxy. The star was a non-radial pulsating variable. The spell was a humanoid to humanoid transformation but that was the only thing remained true. For all intensive purposes Yocar's physical transformations appeared random. Over the next few weeks Yocar underwent eleven transformations and had the opportunity to investigate variations in race, species, and gender at least it was not boring.
Gerald had an idea for a cure for his son's problem but it required a rare item, he did not have at hand.

Always fun
To mix genres! The Starfarers landing on the fantasy world has been going on since, do I dare say it? The infamous Barrier Peaks module for AD&D. I loved the whole bit about the clueless Elf researcher and the Dragons using him to improve their mating flights. I guess he would need a G-suit! I'm not so sure about that Wizard's son story. Still I do want to know what becomes of our hapless space elf!
