The battle of the little satellite dish is finally over.

I've been having a problem recently with my DirecTV HD satellite receiver. I was scheduled for an appointment to have it fixed between 12 noon and 4 PM on Friday. The tech didn't show until 9:30 that night and it was then I learned that the tech that was supposed to visit had been bitten three times by a dog earlier in the day. The tech that did come tried a couple of things including re-aiming the dish before we both decided to call it a night.

They called on Saturday to set up another visit today (Sunday) between 12 noon and 4 PM. A different tech arrived at about 2:15 or so and started to check things out. First he replaced the dish itself since the one I had was three years or so old and had some known issues. That didn't fix the problem so he then checked out the wiring. Still no fix so he replaced the receiver itself. That finally got things going again. In effect I got a new system on the service call.

At least when NASCAR starts back up again next weekend things will be working to let me watch the races. The up side is that there was no charge for the service call since I'm on their service program.
