I've been keeping an eye on the digital SLR camera market recently and Canon has finally released their new Rebel T2i model. Mine arrived today and I'm quite impressed with the overall quality of the camera itself and the pictures and HD video it takes. It shoots still photos at 18 megapixels and HD video at 1080p at 30 frames per second. The few test images and video I've taken so far are incredible!
When I'm a bit more familiar with how it works and what the ka-jillion buttons and knobs do I'll take some pics and video to post. If anyone is interested that is...

Kool!
New toys are always good. I'm afraid I'm saving my 'toy fund' for a couple books coming out next month. Patricia Brigg's new Mercy Thompson book; Jim Butcher's next Harry Dresden, and David Weber's newest Armageddon Reef book are all coming out the first of April.
Have fun!

"Beyond Thunder Dome"
Impressive!
Why have both a digital stills camera and a digital video camera when you can get both in the same package? :)
18.7 MP - cripes! At that kind of resolution you could probably get away with using a full digital zoom and still end up with something you could print out poster size without an appreciable drop in quality... or make your own gigapixel panorama...
Meanwhile, a quick Google reveals sample footage from a preproduction unit (ungraded, straight off the camera).
