Duty Honor County Family Part 25

My mother-in-law passed away a week ago today. Nanay's funeral was last Saturday. I wrote about all of this in Big Closet blog posts here and here.

I'm beginning to write again. My goal is to get Duty Honor Country Family Chapter 25 published by month's end. I do have  4,141 words written(Almost 200 additional words since I wrote one of my BC blog posts). I'm 1/4th to 3/10ths of the way there. Please be patient. More of Hiromi, Chuck, Gabrielle, and plenty of Yakuza mayhem are coming my reader's way.

I can't write at this time

This is in reply to several comments on the 24th Chapter of my Duty Honor Country Family story. I originally wrote this on September 4th at Big Closet.

*****

There are just too much going on at my home right now. As I previously blogged, my mother-in-law's thyroid cancer has recurred. It has metastasized to her spine and Nanay underwent 10 radiation treatments. Doctors talked about surgery, but she is 75 years old and no family member thought Nanay would do well with that form of medical treatment.

Nanay went back in the hospital yesterday because she was having trouble swallowing and was becoming dehydrated. It was also discovered her blood pressure was very low. The swallowing issue may have been caused by the radiation treatments burning Nanay's esophagus. Tests are being done to determine this.

The Status of Big Closet

Is it having some of technical issues? Since yesterday evening I've had trouble accessing it.

Duty, Honor, Country, Family, Parts 16 and 17

I will be publishing 17 later today. It's ready but there are so many scene breaks in it, it needs a great deal of formatting work before I can hit the submit button.

Part 16 of DHCF has undergone some edits to make the beginning of part 17 flow better. If you enjoy my story and plan on reading part 17, I suggest you go back and re-read the last 1/3rd of part 16. I've added a few scenes and put in some background that's important to part 17.

A plea

If you read someone's story at Stardust, try to leave a comment. I'm not asking this for myself but all the authors who pasted in the last two weeks. Just take a look at the most recent comments. 10th most recent one was dated 2 weeks 1 day ago!

Putting up a story takes time. If no one comments, some authors may decide they have better things to do. I'm archiving all my old stories here, I WON'T be one of them.

With FM down

I'm going to re-post and archive some of my old work here. Starting with my tribute to Japanese monster movies.

Duty Honor Country Family Parts 6 and 7 notes

A recent commenter wrote-

"This is quite well done. do you live in Japan? You seem so familliar with the culture and the criminals anyway."

I've never lived in Japan but have visited the country. The occasional bits of Japanese in the story are being provided to me by a friend.

From 1987 to 1989 while serving in the Navy, I was stationed in the Philippines at Subic Bay. I've also traveled to many parts of the region. Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Macau in addition to the Philippines.

For this story I relied on my travels and internet research on the locales and customs I write about.

Calling Dr. Wagner.......

I will soon be posting parts one and two of a new story I'm writing. Its science fiction, and unusual for me, not set in any TG story universe.

A brief synopsis-  Army Captain Tom Slater has been asked by the FBI and the US Army, to infilitrate a Japanese organized crime family. But first the Captain has to undergo some interesting DNA therapy and training to prepare him....her for the mission.

This isn't a short story and what I will post is the first two of what will be a four or five part story. There is sex in the story, but not in parts one or two.

I must thank Daphne  for all her help with the story.
