Printer-friendly version11:36 AM Update - Erin has put in a trouble ticket with the hosting company. She tells me that there are some high winds in the LA area that might be causing power outages. This seems to be a connectivity issue not some kind of server failure so there is little that either Erin or I can do to get things running again until we can get to the server over the net.
When things do come back up I ask that everyone be on their best behavior. Erin really doesn't need any sh*t going on on BCTS right now.

Haven't been able to get to BC this evening, is it down or is the demand just too high?

BCTS is down.
It looks like a problem with the connectivity, not the serer itself as far as we're aware. A trouble ticket had been placed with the hosting company to try to get the problem fixed. No estimate when though.
The server has been much better under heavy loads since the tweaking we did a week or more ago so I doubt that the server has crashed.

Even in these days of fancy gadgets and technical wonders old Mother Nature can still give us fits apparantly.
As you rightly say, Bob, don't give Erin grief over this. The weather is clearly not her responciblity, that of cource is the fault of all those TV forcasters out there that make Williard Scott look like a genius.
Sorry bad attempt at levity. I wish Erin well and maybe I can finish that test read I promised RAS. Be patient guys and gals.

For about ten minutes near noon Pacific on the 4th. Don't know why you had problems all afternoon unless it was caching by your ISP.
