All of You

A sweet, aching buzz rippled through me when I felt Rachel's touch through my blouse and bra.

"Wow, they feel real."

"They are." I lifted her hand from my breast, then kissed her
fingertips before holding them between my palms. "So are other parts."

Another ripple passed through me as she stroked the back of my hand with a delicate fingertip. "I know, and I don't care."

I could barely breathe as I asked, "Why?"

My heart nearly burst when I saw her eyes glisten with unshed tears as she said, "Because I love you ... all of you."

Less is More! Less is More! Less is More! Yea! Drabble!

Heather, you suceeded in packing a lot of emotion in a small space. You always write wonderfully but with this you really shine. Drabbles are a very challenging art form. I've written a couple of plot driven ones, myself and for that its a trade off on what you can imply versus what you have to spell out for it to make sense.

The question is wheather if you convert the drabble to a story, can the details that you invent to replace what is implied ever compete with what is personally supplied by the soul of the reader.

Sometimes more isn't better, it's just more.
All my hopes,
Sasha

PS Can you tell I really want to try out for cheerleader today?

All my hopes,
Ariel Montine

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your feedback, Sasha. I've found drabbles to be an enjoyable challenge. Someone had asked for more of the story from All of You, but I felt reluctant to try expanding this one special moment into a full story.

Then Laika suggested I try creating a cluster of loosely related & not-necessarily-sequential drabbles featuring them. I wasn't really sure what something like that would be like, but I liked the idea, so I decided to give it a try.

At this point, I have nine more drabbles related to this one. For some reason, they all just started pouring out of me. Anyway, I'm still unsure about how people will react to them, but I'm thinking of posting them as a drabble collection. So stay tuned for All of You ... and Then Some. ;)
